US fulfilment: faster delivery, lower costs and less complexity to grow your eCommerce brand

Simplify customs, deliver faster, and grow your business in the world’s largest eCommerce market.

Our new US fulfilment solution makes expanding into the United States simple.

You can ship directly from the US, streamline tax handling, speed up delivery, clear customs before the sale, and compete on a level playing field with local retailers.

Based in Dallas, Texas, it complements our fulfilment network in the UK, Spain, and the Netherlands, giving international brands the infrastructure to deliver faster, serve customers better, and grow confidently in one of the world’s most competitive markets.

How does it work?

The US operation will run in the same way as our UK operation, using the same processes, system, standards, and performance expectations. This ensures consistency, reliability, and a seamless extension of our existing logistics framework as we scale into the U.S. market.

Who is this solution designed for?

The solution is ideal for businesses based outside the US that currently fulfil and ship a significant number of orders to the US, or for non-US businesses interested in US expansion.

⇒ Hold inventory in the United States
⇒ Fulfil customer orders domestically
⇒ Ship nationwide across the US
⇒ Use a third-party fulfilment partner in Texas

Benefits of fulfilling from the US

⇒ Faster delivery to US customers (typically 2–5 days instead of 7-14 days)
⇒ Lower domestic shipping costs vs cross-border
⇒ Removes DDP complexity and duty friction
⇒ Therefore, landing costs are more predictable
⇒ No customs delays and smoother returns
⇒ Marketplace expansion unlocked

The US Custom Changes

In 2025, the US government has removed the de minimis exemption that previously allowed most shipments under $800 to enter duty-free.

This means all goods imported into the US are now subject to duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees, regardless of value.

This has increased costs and customs requirements for shipments from around the world.

But Huboo has the right solutions to support your US expansion.

Not ready to fulfil from the US? We have alternatives.

For brands testing the market, Huboo also offers cross-border solutions, shipping from the UK, Spain, or Netherlands directly to US customers.

This flexible approach allows you to validate demand, refine strategy, and grow at your own pace.

The process is actually quite straightforward.

Most clients only need two things before sending inventory:

• a U.S. EIN number
• a Texas State Tax permit

The EIN application usually takes 1–2 hours, while the Texas registration typically takes 4–5 weeks.

Many clients work with a tax advisor to handle this quickly, and we can introduce partners who help with the process (Taxually).

Clients are able to progress in shipping their stock to the warehouse whilst the tax number registration is in progress. However they should ensure that they have this once the stock lands.

Most clients are operational in around 4–6 weeks.

The timeline mainly depends on completing the tax registrations.

Once those are ready, onboarding and sending inventory to the warehouse can be completed quickly.

No. You can store inventory and fulfil orders in the United States without creating a U.S. company.

However, you will typically need:
• a U.S. EIN number
• a Texas State Tax Permit

An EIN (Employer Identification Number) is a tax identification number issued by the Internal Revenue Service in the United States.

It is required to:
• register for state tax
• store inventory in Texas
• complete the fulfilment onboarding process.

Applying usually takes 1–2 hours.

Not automatically. You must register for Texas sales tax because your inventory will be stored there.

Registration in other states is only required if your sales volume reaches certain thresholds.

This is called economic nexus.
